We live in California and have some long term (it may have just happened but we just now found it) water damage to our bathroom that we want to file a claim We have heard that if you file a claim that it will make it difficult if not impossible for future buyers to purchase insurance for your home…thus making it less desirable or much more difficult to sell.

We feel like this is why we have insurance. Should we fix the problems by ourselves or would you file a claim? Any suggestions from insurance brokers would be fantastic.

I have State Farm coverage on my home and auto. I filed a claim for hail damage and do not feel like I was treated fairly. All my other neighbors got new roofs, but they said my roof had nail damage and would not pay. I saw on the TV that State Farm and Allstate will go the extra mile to not pay fairly for a loss. I know there are better companies out there, just need some referrals.

I am a single mother of two. In the past I have been using my tax refund to pay my homeowneres insurance but due to the increase I could not afford it. So I tried to get by saving what I had and coming up with the rest. But that wasnt fast enough for my mortgage co. And now I have to pay an extra $592.00 per month along with my mortgage for the next 10 months. Now what I did have save to get the insurance on my own has gone to them, and I cant afford to pay that extra money on top of my mortgage payment. I have been threatened with foreclosure. Any help will be appreciated.
