Tom Carter China Photographer asked: I have searched the internet exhaustively for photography equipment insurance that covers international trips, to no avail. It seems that no company is willing to offer that service. Any pros here personally suggest a commercial company?
(FYI, I am not interested in attaching a floater to my home-owners insurance, and please don’t simply suggest I do a Google search. I have, and those top listings are exactly the companies who do NOT offer INTERNATIONAL camera insurance.
Thanks in advance.

Our neighbors 3 dogs attacked our cat and 2 other small dogs this weekend. All 3 animals were in their own yard and there were several witnesses to this in the neighborood. Unfortunately, our cat died yesterday afternoon and we are deeply devastated. Not only have we lost our pet, we have $958 in medical bills. The neighbors have offered to pay but, they are more than likely not going to since they have 2 other animals vet bills as well. After speakin with the other 2 neighbors about their pets, they are roughly looking at over $2800 from the 3 animals that their dogs attacked. I have tried to read online about homeowners insurance covering this and can only find discussions on the fact if you own certain breeds that your insurance will not write your homeowners policy. Does anyone know if their homeowners insurance would cover this issue or have advice on the best way to pursue this issue?
I am adding this detail to the posting as many of you have asked if this has been done. One of our neighbors did call animal control and 2 of the 3 were taken. The 3rd one was still running wild and could not be found. Yesterday afternoon our neighbor noticed that the dog was now in their owners back yard in the fence. We called animal control and they advised that there was nothing more they could do on the 3rd one? We were puzzled and didn’t ask anymore questions just assuming he was going on a law. We took the receipts to the owners and they told us that the other 2 dogs were going to be placed on a farm instead of being put down/ This is very frustrating knowing they they make gang up on animals there as well. I understand their pain as well being that they are their pets but it just doesn’t seem right to put them back in another potential situation of attaching other animals and that the 3rd dog is still in the neighborhood. Thanks to all responses and condolences.

My husband & I were in an auto accident 1 1/2 yrs ago. It was not our fault and we were driving a friends vehicle.
The vehicle we were driving did have insurance but with no P.I.P. coverage.
The kid that hit us had $50,000 liability coverage.
My husband had back surgery .
We already signed the $50,000 check (which was the max)and only received $5,000 of it so far.
In the meantime, oue attorney was trying to tell us about how we could be covered under my grandparents home owners insurance. And we kept telling him he was crazy!! My grandparents didn’t have anything to do with this wreck what-so-ever!!
He kept insisting that we get money thru my grandparents insurance and why not? he says, “they have been paying into it their whole life, they should get something back out of it!”.
See, we live with my grandparents and this lawyer got the name of my grandparents insurer and how to spell their last name & that was all it took!! Now my grandparents ins carrier has dropped them.

I have had an inspection of the home about 4 weeks ago and that was where my concerns started. The home owners were home so I was not able to to tour the entire house with the inspector. The inspector noticed that the siding will need replacing in about 5 years. After walking throught today I noticed that there is a hole in one door (that was not noted on the inspection or by myself earlier) and that the siding is in bad shape (starting to rot and peel away in areas – much worse that I noticed before.) The siding is a type of board. The insurace company says a step has to be placed on the front of the house within 60days on the purchase for them to cover home owners insurance. Can I back out of the purchase for the items I noticed? And at what cost if any? I feel as if I was pressured by my agent to purchase thsi house for the price. I can afford it, but I feel like I could have offered less, but my agent told me that I should offer more “no one writes offers back and forth anymore
The inspection is past the point where amendments can be made (so I am told) since closing is in two days! I noticed these things as I walked through today. Eventhought the mortgage has been approved and everything is set for the closing can amendments be made yet? Or more negotiations? I was not aware that the insurance would not cover the house unles the step was paced in until today. The step is onl $300 but still, that money was not a planned investment at the moment. Thank you for your responses, they are very helpful.
The inspection went well, accoriding to the person who performed the inspection. But I felt rushed since the home owners were at the home. I noticed that the siding is in worse condition than (satisfactory) today. I wonder if there is another inspection that could be done for a second opinion? (The house has appraised at $1000 more than what we are paying. We did make an offer and then there was a counter offer but we were never informed that we could counter the counter offer (sounds funny but this is our first home purchase)
