Can property insurance be canceled due to owning a Mastiff dog?

Lucylulu asked:
I was just told by someone that a new law/regulation? has been passed & insurance carriers will cancel you if you own a Mastiff dog. We were actually getting ready to put a deposit down on one of these dogs next week but thought I should check first as this could definitely complicate things a bit. These dogs are not aggressive so I don’t understand why they would be on the list. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks~

My landlord won’t let me paint the exterior of my house. He says his insurance won’t let me do the work myself?

My landlord won’t let me paint the exterior of my house. He says his insurance won’t cover me doing the work myself. He has been promising me for 3 years that he would do it yet he hasn’t done anything. I want to do the work myself in order to get to done. A friend told me that business about the insurance is not true. What is the truth?

We are buying a newly built house. We need house insurance up front in order to close on it. My insurance agent called the builder to see how much the house was without the cost of the land. The builder was furious and would not give the information to my agent….only an estimation…not the exact amount.I don’t know why that would be such a problem. The agent would not tell me exactly what the builder said….I don’t know why, just that he furiously refused. Now,we have met the builder several times and he seems like a nice elderly fellow who possibly couldn’t have used the language that I imagine was possibly said.He has been in business over 30 years in this city.So I assume that he is reputable.I don’t know why my insurance agent didn’t tell me exactly what was said……I do not have virgin ears(I look like I do,though,) It just makes me sad and depressed now.(I WAS happy, upbeat and excited) …..and buying a house should be a HAPPY OCCASION!!!!!!!!!! OUR FIRST HOUSE!!!!
