As I have no idea the details of the house you are buying the quotes you have received so far may or may not be typical of your situation. People buying home insurance for the first time would not be eligible for many discounts such as loyalty or claims free.

My husband and I are looking to move to North Carolina and we don’t have a specific city. We want to start looking for Property and Casualty insurance jobs that are in NC but we don’t know what companies there are. Frankly, if you’re not resourceful enough to come up with that list on your own (and posting to YA for it??), you’re going to have a hard time landing that job.

Answer by Tony Q thats too expensive. forget about land, think about how much it cost to rebuild your house probably $ 200k and insured to that amount. don’t ask for quotation, go to allstate and tell them what you want.

Answer by Don Yes you can however most homeowners policies have a 1% of the value of the home as a deductible so it wouldn’t be worth it. There are riders to get around this but not many people have them. Check with your insurer. Good Luck.
