My husband & I were in an auto accident 1 1/2 yrs ago. It was not our fault and we were driving a friends vehicle.
The vehicle we were driving did have insurance but with no P.I.P. coverage.
The kid that hit us had $50,000 liability coverage.
My husband had back surgery .
We already signed the $50,000 check (which was the max)and only received $5,000 of it so far.
In the meantime, oue attorney was trying to tell us about how we could be covered under my grandparents home owners insurance. And we kept telling him he was crazy!! My grandparents didn’t have anything to do with this wreck what-so-ever!!
He kept insisting that we get money thru my grandparents insurance and why not? he says, “they have been paying into it their whole life, they should get something back out of it!”.
See, we live with my grandparents and this lawyer got the name of my grandparents insurer and how to spell their last name & that was all it took!! Now my grandparents ins carrier has dropped them.

More info is needed. Why would your attorney want your grandparent’s insurance? Do you owe the attorney money?
Step 1 is report him to the state bar association for misconduct.
One of the two parties (insurance company / your attorney)
is VERY very wrong on their immediate actions.
Someone will take the fall. Call another attorney for a free consulation and spend the day getting the help you deserve
I would talk with another attorney and see what he/she thinks.
I agree with Micheal C. – report him!!!
