I have lied for years about my dogs breed to my homeowners insurance company and I know that there is some out there that will insure me with a Pitt-bull breed. If someone could please let me know what companys do, or have in the past.

I dont know of ANY company that will do this. There ARE however a FEW companies that will write you a homeowners policy and EXCLUDE the liability for the dog. that way you do not have to lie to them. by lying on your application, you have voided your contract with them and they WILL deny claims and coverage based on the false information you provided. I know Alliance Mutual is a company that will exclude dogs…see if they write in your area.
Well, if you want liabiltiy coverage for the dog, no.
If you’re willing to get the policy, and EXCLUDE coverage for dog bites, Foremost Insurance will do that, IF the dog doesn’t have a bite history.
You can find a foremost agent near you at
Well, I can tell you for sure, your policy is void. Lying on the application the way you did is material misreprentation & if you submit a claim & they find out you have a pit bull and that you had it at the time of application, your policy will be void, meaning it never existed, they will pay you back your premium & walk away.
Then, that little incident will follow you to all other insurance policies you try to purchase in the future.
Depending on your state, an insurance company may or may not be able to exclude animals (it would be all animals if they are allowed to exclude because if you sign off on one pit bull, they don’t want you to get another one that they may have to cover if you didn’t sign off on it).
Try Foremost, it may work. I know they don’t have a dog list for mobilehome policies but they do for homeowners policies. They are more expensive but that may be your only choice.
Remember though, if you sign an animal exclusion, any and all damages caused by the dog, you will have to pay for out of pocket. Also, all lawsuits, defense & judgements too. But, I guess that is better than no insurance at all.
Farmers doesn’t have a dog list, so I would check with a Farmers agent in your area.
