But no, your homeowners will not cover it. I'm guessing it is a hot air furnace and there is a hole in the heat exchanger and they red tagged it. Depending on the mfg. they are usually warranted for a number of years. Some 1, 10, 20 yrs. or lifetime if you are the original owner. But in some cases they are pro rated after a set amount of years. And out of the 1st year you are responsible for some if not all of the labor, which is also pro rated. Unless it was damaged by either "act of god", lightning strike or something else by freak of nature. If it is less than 10yrs old, it may still be covered under the manufacturer warranty. Call the manufacturer first. Our heating coil had a hole after 6yrs and the manufacturer, Rudd, replaced them for free. :-) Not normally.
