The insurance guy said, No one would sell you house insurance with this dog, when my mom ask to switch insurances.
I heard some places do sell insurance to akita dogs, but its alot more money, is this true?

If it’s your parents’ house and your parents’ insurance, then it’s something then can research for themselves.
They may even be using the insurance thing as an excuse to get rid of your dog- if they don’t want the dog, it’s unlikely they’re going to pay a higher policy just so you can keep it.
So let your parents do the research. In the nicest way possible, they don’t need your help.
our home owners is the same way…any dog on the vicious dog list i can’t have unless i have separate insurance…state farm will insure them though but it’s separate from home owners insurance…here you have to have $100,000 in liability insurance on any vicious dog…
I have a feeling this may even vary from state to state. We checked around in our area when buying our house and found a few options, most involved higher premiums IF they would insure us. We are currently insured through State Farm. The dog isn’t specifically noted in our insurance but we were told that if he (or any other so-called banned breed) bit anyone that our insurer would simply drop us cold after settling. Currently my we just have my wife’s old pit bull but we are normally Akita owners.
