What homeowners insurance company would you suggest for a first time homebuyer? Who should I go to?

We are buying a home for 90K, its about 50 years old but completely remodeled in Alabama. Any suggestions? I have to decide tomorrow.

~~I do not agree with anyone for shopping around with homeowners insurance. You need to pick a company and plan on staying with them, because it does not pay off to insurance hop on a home.
My brother did this, and because of one large claim he had on his house, he was dropped from his insurance (had only been with them a couple of years), then had a difficult time finding anyone to cover him and paid dearly when he found one who would.
We have used State Farm for over 30 years now. I have had two huge claims, and a couple of smaller ones. I have never even had a premium increase with them. Longevity paid off.
They are always within a decent area of all quotes, cheaper than some, more expensive than others. However, I have never seen or heard of a single complaint from anyone who has them, with the exception of one lady on here, who had only been with them a couple of years.
My claims were paid right on the spot, and we were very well taken care of. I have nothing but positive feelings for this company. I use them for home and autos so we get a discount for this too. They are a very awesome, customer oriented company. I hope you have them available in your area, as this is the company I highly recommend.~~
homeinsurance.awardspace.us – you can try this company. I personally have their home insurance cause it is cheapest in our area.
