Question by im_foxygirl: Can an house insurance company drop you if you are having a dispute with a neighbor?
A friend of mine is having major problems with a neighbor. She was on the phone with her house insurance agent and she actually told the women about her neighbor and said if her house burns down they should look at the neighbor for setting it.
omg I thought that was insane to tell the agent.
Am I wrong??
She has called the police on her neighbor 2 times already.
Last week she called the police because someong decappitated her kitten. That is how nutty her neighbor is.
sorry for the typo

They will not drop her insurance. They probably hung up from talking to her and had a good laugh over it with their co-workers. Everyone has at least one nutty neighbor. If this neighbor crosses the line, your friend should consider talking with the police about how to protect herself from harassment. We have a neighbor who is convinced that our sump pump hose is flooding her back yard. She has never said a word to us. We found out that she has complained about us 3 times to the city and each time they have investigated and told her that we are doing nothing wrong and are not causing flooding in her backyard. It is her own sump pump hose. Does she believe them? No!

We have a neighbor with a hazardous, threatening tree that they refuse to deal with or let us deal with. We’ve been told that if we alert their insurance company they will probably force the homeowners to remove it. But how can I find that info out?

elizabeth asked:
When my son was living with us he was involved in an altercation with a neighbor. That neighbor is now suing us via our homeowners policy for injuries he sustained as my son was defending himself. No arrests were made, but the police were called. If the insurance company decides to pay the claim, now that my son has his own home, will my insurance company try to recoup their money by suing my son?
